Clarke PSV5A Pump With Integrated Float Switch

This submersible pump is ideal for heavy duty draining applications including pits, sumps, ditches, footings etc. It can be used to remove both clean and dirty water including particles up to 35mm dia. The integrated float switch will switch off the pump motor once the water level is reduced to a defined level. Being integrated within the pump housing it is usable in a more confined space than would be the case with conventional float switches.

Pump has an integral float switch which did not work when the pump arrived. It did not switch itself off in the automatic mode. After opening it up I could see why, not the best of float systems inside and had to make a slight modification. Either that or when it was assembled it was not checked to make sure it worked. Works fine now but if I'm not good with my hands it would have had to be returned which would have been a waste of everybody's time. Other pumps I have had the float was in one piece, this one is in two pieces and needs a couple of arms to push it up. Unfortunately once the arms are extended they get stuck under the float and do not allow the float to drop back down and so the pump stays on.
