The silenced sound attenuated canopy ensures low noise, and the compact design and portability makes this diesel generator extremely popular.
The DHY8000SELR diesel generator produces a maximum power output of 6kW / 7.5kVA, which makes it ideal for both home and business standby / backup. For agricultural users, this diesel generator is ideal for mobile field repairs, allowing you to bring the workshop out to the field.
Equippped with an AVR alternator, The reliable performance is provided by a 12hp D475E Hyundai engine, running at 3000rpm. Hyundai diesel engines are renowned for their long lifespans and reliability, and with low maintenance requirements this generator is perfect for users with no mechanical experience.
The long running time of this generator is made possible by the impressive fuel economy, and running costs are kept low thanks to the option to power it using red diesel.
A user friendly generator, the DHY8500SELR features electric key start for easy starting, as well as a digital control panel for monitoring statistics such as the frequency, total hours run and voltage. It has low maintenance requirements and even novice users will find it easy to use. It also has built-in safety features, such as low oil shutdown and automatic engine shutdown.
Housed in a sound attenuated canopy, the noise level produced by this generator is significantly reduced, and there are three sockets available in total:
The DHY8500SELR is ideal for standby or backup power for your home, this generator will, on average power or backup a standard house (however we recommend using an electrician to confirm your power requirements prior to purchase).
This 12hp diesel generator can also be used in workshops, on farmyards or for mobile agricultural field repairs to keep machinery mobile during peak times such as Harvest. Please note our recommended applications as detailed below.

Light duty rating is applicable for supplying power in portable and/or intermittent applications. The average load should not be lower than 30% or higher than 80% of the rated output of the generator.

Emergency duty rating is applicable for supplying power for the duration of a utility power outage. No overload capability is available.

For added convenience, this diesel generator can be configured to work with an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), or a simpler manual changeover switch (MTS / MCS). The automatic transfer set up will detect a loss of power from the mains, turn the generator on, and then turn it off again when power from the mains returns. This makes backing up your home or business completely automatic. However, the more cost effective solution is to set this generator up with a manual changeover switch. In the event of a power cut, simply turn the generator on using the key or a '2 wire start', and once up to speed, simply turn the manual changeover switch to begin powering your home/the load via the generator. When the power returns, turn the manual changeover switch back to mains power, and turn the generator off. Please note; this generator does not come as standard with any changeover switches.
