In the event of a product failure firstly contact Genpower Ltd. Once the fault is established and cannot be solved on site, we will arrange collection of the machine (Highlands & Islands may incur a surcharge) or authorise a local dealer repair (please note if the fault is established to be non warranty or the machine is found to be out of warranty charges will apply)

If the machine is being returned it is the customer’s responsibility to drain the machine of all fluids*, to package the machine securely and to print and affix the returns number we supply via email to the package. The courier will supply the shipping documentation upon collection. The repair or replacement of a machine will take place within a reasonable period of time during weekday business hours.

Parts Only Supply

If the machine can be repaired on site we can send out replacement parts under the terms of the warranty. To achieve this we must have photographic evidence of the faulty part highlighting the defect, or have the old part returned to us.

If we are to send out a new part before we have either the faulty part or photographic evidence we will charge for the new part. When we receive the faulty part back we will test the part, if the part is found to be faulty due to a manufacturing defect we will then refund the purchase price and shipping of the replacement.

The warranty coverage is continual from the initial date of purchase and does not restart at anytime under any circumstances. This limited warranty is valid only when the machine receives all necessary preventative maintenance and servicing as described in the Hyundai User Manual. This warranty covers machine used and operated within the UK mainland only.

Not covered by this Limited Warranty:

  1. Normal wear and tear.
  2. Damage caused by a lack of maintenance as described in the Hyundai User Manual.
  3. Damage caused by accidents, impact, improper installation or storage.
  4. Damage caused by water ingestion, submersion, or external water damage.
  5. Damage or non-performance caused by operation of the machine in a marine application.
  6. Damage caused by operation with improper pressure, conditions, or modifications contrary to published specifications.
  7. Items not supplied by Hyundai, such as, but not limited to, external wiring, filters, etc.
  8. Repairs made during the warranty period without first obtaining approval from Genpower Ltd.
  9. Service items, such as spark plugs, filters.
  10. Wearing items such as recoil start units, brushes, bearings, hoses, seals, wheels/tyres, lances, batteries, cables, blades, trimmer heads, straps, belts etc.
  11. AVRs are not covered under warranty, as these can be damaged by stopping the generator when under full load.
  12. Fuel related faults caused by stale petrol or contaminated petrol or diesel.
  13. Damaged caused during transit, unless signed for by customer as ‘damaged’ and reported immediately to Genpower.
  14. Damage caused by under-loading or over-loading a generator.

*If fuel or oil is left in the machine the courier we use to collect the machine may quarantine the machine delaying delivery. In some cases Genpower may incur an additional charge which will be passed onto you.


Hyundai 1500rpm diesel generator 24 month limited warranty (effective from 01/12/2012)

All Hyundai 1500rpm diesel generators are covered by a 12 month, 1000 hour parts and labour warranty.

This can be extended to 24 months, for standby use, maximum 500 hours per year. The 2nd year warranty is a parts only warranty. To activate the second year warranty, a fully completed service record sheet must be received by Genpower Ltd within 1 month of the start of the 2nd year.

This warranty applies to all Hyundai 1500rpm diesel generators imported into the UK by Genpower Ltd.

Warranty will start from the date of delivery to the first user, or 12 months after Genpower sells the generator to it's customer, whichever is first.

Genpower's responsibilities:

Genpower will cover the generator set against manufacturing defects only.

If the user has bought the machine with standard warranty, we will in the first 12 months if necessary, send an engineer, or arrange collection of the machine at our discretion to repair or replace the faulty item.

The above engineer call out is limited to normal working hours and availability of the engineer. We will provide one call out up to 250 miles round trip and 4 hours travelling from the nearest engineer. Subsequent call outs and/or collections/deliveries are chargeable.

If a call out or collection/delivery is undertaken and the fault is found to be a non-warranty fault, this will be chargeable to the customer along with the parts and labour costs associated with this.

The Hyundai Generator User's responsibilities:

The User is responsible for:

  • Installing, operating and maintaining the generator set in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Returning the Warranty Registration Form within one month of delivery.
  • Ensuring initial start-up is performed by an authorised representative of the company or it's dealers. In exceptional circumstances, said start-up will be waived but only if a Pre-Delivery Inspection has been completed.
  • Making the equipment available for repair as soon as the defect has become apparent.
  • Accepting the Company’s sole judgement as to whether the faulty part is defective in material or workmanship.
  • Labour costs, including costs to disconnect the product from and reconnect the product to it’s attached equipment, mountings and support systems.
  • The costs and risks for transport/shipping and other charges associated with the replacement of the repair parts
  • Any costs in excess of the purchase price of the product.
  • Other miscellaneous costs including but not limited to courier, travel, mileage, lodging, taxes, telephone calls, overtime, etc., except as stated under “Genpower's Responsibilities.”
  • Completing any outstanding payments for the purchase of equipment, parts or services relating to the equipment under warranty.

What the warranty does not cover:

  1. Damage, malfunctions or failures resulting from accidents, abuse, misuse, modifications, alteration, improper servicing, or lack of servicing, as set out in user manual.
  2. Normal maintenance services or replacement of maintenance items such as light bulbs, preheater plugs, indicator and resistant coils, filter elements, lubricants, oils, coolant, belts, hoses, batteries.
  3. Installation of replacement parts, unless originally installed by an authorised Hyundai Generator Distributor or Dealer.
  4. Non-genuine Hyundai parts.
  5. Any engines damaged by use of ether or any starting aid, or greater than a 50/50% solution of antifreeze and water.
  6. Injector nozzle wear or any engine damage caused by injector nozzle wear or sticking.
  7. Injector pump wear or any engine damage caused by injector pump wear.
  8. Damage caused by water or contaminated oil, fuel or air, entering the machine due to any cause.
  9. Damage caused by adverse weather conditions, such as extreme hot or cold temperatures, water ingress or salt corrosion in marine environment etc.
  10. Used machines or components.
  11. Any damage caused by overheating that is not a direct result of a defect in materials or workmanship.
  12. Damage caused to any component due to underload of the diesel engine or generator.
  13. Damage caused to any component due to overload of the diesel engine or generator.
  14. Normal wear and tear.
  15. Damage caused by running the machine above its rated output for extended periods.
  16. Certain areas of the UK, such as Highlands and Islands may incur a surcharge for the engineer's travelling time or collection/delivery charge.

This is the only warranty on our products

We neither assume nor authorise anyone to assume for us any other warranty. The Hyundai Distributor/ Dealer has no authority to make any representation or promise on behalf of Genpower Ltd or to modify the terms or limitations of this warranty in any way.

Limitations on our responsibility with respect to products used by consumers, personal, householders or for hire, commercial, industrial or agricultural purposes.

This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, and of any other obligations or liability on our part. Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are excluded. Our responsibility for any and all losses and damages resulting from any cause whatsoever, including our negligence, alleged damage or defective goods, whether such defects are discoverable or latent, shall be limited to the repair or replacement of defective parts as stated above. The HYMMA-160 is a lightweight and incredibly versatile single phase ARC/MMA welder from Hyundai.

Weighing only 6.0kg, the HYMMA-120 is easy to carry around thanks to its adjustable harness and lightweight pressed steel case with powder coated finish for extra corrosion resistance. Accessories include electrode holder with 2m cable, earth clamp with 1.5m cable, chipping hammer and wire brush making the HYMMA-160 extremely cost effective.

The HYMMA-160 ARC welder features a stepless regulator for infinite variable control of the welding current with a low current facility for effective welding of thinner materials. The welding (output) current of the HYMMA-160 can be regulated within the range of 10-160 Ampere making the HYMMA-160 adjustable to suit welding different materials and thicknesses of steel.

Beware of lower quality models by always checking the ‘Duty Cycle’. Duty cycle is the amount of time, within a 10 minute period the welder can be used, on a given output. For example, our 160A welder has a duty cycle of 35% when used on 160A output. This means it can be used for three and a half minutes in every 10 minute period.

Cheaper, lower quality welders claim to be a certain Amperage output, but can have a very low duty cycle on the output they have claimed. Always check the duty cycle to ensure you are getting the best value for money.

The inverter technology used within the Hyundai welders has certain advantages compared to more traditional transformer welders. The inverter type welders are usually lighter, more cost effective and usually require less input power for a comparable output. This makes them more cost effective not only to purchase, but also to run.
