I previously had a 3 section ladder that I had purchased from a local diy store which I used to gain access to reach the top of my 2 storey terraced house at the front and back. It was very light to carry. However, climbing that ladder was dodgy at best as it not only bounced up and down but swayed side to side with every step taken up it. I am not scared of heights, just nervous with a hint of vertigo, and wanted a ladder that would help me overcome that. I know I had used my Uncle's 2 piece ladder years ago and that was ideal for me so I wanted something similar. I had also spoken to a builder about this and he immediately reccomended Youngmans. I did my research including contacting Youngmans and Sitebox about the height / length of ladder required for my needs. I finally decided on a Youngman's 3.66 2 piece extension ladder and also Sitebox for their very competitive prices. Delivery was excellent with great communication from Sitebox and the ladder was delivered appropriately with social distancing. I also purchased the ladder stay. The ladder was very well packaged and after inspection was in excellent condition. The ladder is very light to carry. I have no straight run through my house and I have to negotiate walls and furniture to get from front to back so the light weight of the ladder was ideal. On my first use of the ladder I found lifting one section very smooth to use. I had already attached the stabilizer. Positioning and ensuring the ladder was straight, level and safe was easy to do, again due the the lightness of the ladder. Then came the crucial test. The climb. I was seriously happy having reached the top of the ladder and the top of the house. There was no side sway whatsoever and very minimal bounce. I felt very safe, stable and secure on this ladder. I am now more confident in going up a ladder now to perform diy desperately needed on the front and back of my house. I would highly recommend this ladder, or any Youngmans, my loft ladder is a Youngmans too, to anyone looking for a light, stable secure, safe and steady ladder. My one was excellent value and will pay for itself for many years to come. I have even purchased tarpaulin to cover it to protect it from the elements. I would also recommend Sitebox for your ladder purchase. Their pre sale service, delivery and after sales service is excellent and they are highly competitive on price.
