Hand Sanitiser UK Guidelines
Before sanitising hands:
Make sure hands are free of sweat, grease and visible dirt
Enough hand sanitiser should be used to completely cover all the surfaces of each hand.
The hands should be rubbed together until the solution has evaporated.
NHS recommended technique for using alcohol hand rub
1. Apply to palm of cupped hand
2. Rub both hands palm to palm, spreading the gel over hands
3. Rub the back of both hands with the other hand while interlacing fingers
4. Rub palm to palm with interlaced fingers
5. Rub back of fingers to opposite palms with interlocked fingers
6. Clasp each thumb in the opposite hand and use rotational movement
7. Rub fingertips on opposite palms in a circular motion
8. Use each hand to rub the opposite wrist
9. Do not use paper towels, wait until hands are dry from evaporation
10. This should take 15-30 seconds
If hand washing facilities are not available, or you are implementing social distancing with barriers and hand sanitiser, you may wish to display our signs making it clear that sanitising hands is mandatory
If hand washing facilities are available as well, then these signs make it clear that washing or sanitising must be done
This product was developed to meet the requirements of the food, catering and hospitality industries
To be considered a hospital-grade hand sanitizer and to ensure efficacy against viruses a 70% alcohol hand sanitizer is required
